Christian Kum sent off in 54th minute. I thought that was the name of a saucy show in Alabama. Either way, it was the climax of Venlo's chances to get level. Truly dumped their load at that point and Ajax came at them with some vigour. No clean sheets for Venlo.

I have a similar experience, Arse. The rugby team I played in beat the All Blacks in 1978. I was 16.
Like your story, that's not the full picture. They were given my school's facilities to train so as a thank you they put out a team to play a mixture of our 1st XV, dads and teachers (two of which were Welsh Internationals).
They went incredibly easy on us and we won 47 - 39 which was followed by a piss up at Porthcawl Rugby club, paid for by The Western Mail in exchange for allowing a photographer in.
Great day, that.

The club is superb at scouring lower leagues and nations for young talent.

Played against Ajax in a tournament in Belgium early 70s when they were the dogs dangles and beat them 1-0. Quite chuffed really when I look at this result, ok it was their fifth team, but still chuffed.
